2. UN Concerns a Peaceful and Fair Myanmar

From Myanmar, Mr. Jen Lomethong, the APLFD Myanmar Chapter Chairman, informed the Secretariat that the United Nations has send a special envoy to visit Laiza in Kachinland to meet with the Kachin leaders. The UN-Kachin meeting was held at the end of August. Such rare visit has shown the policy of UN for a peaceful and fair Myanmar which is still under the rule of the power of the Military.

The UN special envoy, Mr. Vijay Nambia, has also visited the Arakan State in Myanmar where communal violence between Buddhist Arakanese and Muslim Rohingya community were seen in the past 15 months, leading to casualties and refugees.
